purity and on and on.....

hi folks,

Sorry had to poke my nose in on this subject it's raised my ire.

Purity is not the same as right, or the same as good.
There are beliefs in the pure form of race and that all imperfections
should be eliminated as a matter of course - say it was decided that
all characters with blond hair and blue eyes were pure and all the
others should die - this is a form of purity, yet I doubt that the
church would condone this as either right or good.

As for my guild being an "impure" guild - I am glad of this. We
have a rich diversity that allows us to extend our research and
our beliefs along many varied lines - some perceived as good, some
bad. Some viewed as right, some as wrong. I welcome the impurity
of thought that allows us our open minded approach to all aspects
of life, and death as well. At least we can see that purity of
thought stagnates change and harbours ill-considered and out-dated
ideals and ideas that should long since have been passed over.

Purity is the road to ruin
