Public Service Announcement - Oystir's Auctions

As someone who trades goods and credits monthly here on Aetherius, I would like to inform you all of the unhonorable dealings of Oystir Kyma'Dynesei.

He recently held an auction for earrings. Upon the ending of the auction, I was informed via message that I had won five earrings, along with their ending prices.

I then reached out to Oystir and transferred the credits. As he was transferring earrings to me, he realized he had duplicates of an Aquamarine earring. This is when he transferred credits back to me and said he was going to try to sell them as a set instead.

When an auction is held before goods and currency is ever transferred, two parties are going on an honor system. As a bidder you are giving your word that you are good and have the funds to buy these items. As a seller, you are giving your word that the item will be sold at the price it ends on.

As a matter of fact, I even asked Oystir if there were reserves in place for some of his items as I wanted to respect that and at the very least bid on the minimum reserve if I was interested in an earring.

Oystir went back on his word as an auctioneer when he decided to keep his item after the auction ended, I was declared the winner, and even transferred payment. Though he did return my payment, what he did was a dishonorable thing and he cannot be trusted to hold fair auctions in the future.

I hope this announcement serves its purpose and that you think twice before you make a bid on an item in one of his auctions as apparently there is no honor system with Oystir's auctions. He can and will rescind his offers even after an auction has ended and HE declares you a winner.
