With all of the chaos going on with Gods dying, it seems many had forgotten about the hard-working Tomas, desperately trying to interpret the knowledge of the ancient humans in the desert temple. Finally reaching a breakthrough, Tomas sought out a Champion.

Reaching out to Galt and Ike, Tomas informed them both that he required their assistance in reaching the desert temple. The next step of the ritual in empowering the Hammer of the Gods was available.

Galt was the first to reach the temple, but quickly died to its denizens and could no longer serve as the sacrificial Champion. Ike and his allies led Tomas to the altar and Ike was sacrificed as the first Champion on the altar of the Hammer. The altar grew in strength, but the difference in power is almost unnoticeable. It is clear that many Champions must arise and be sacrificed upon the altar in order for this endeavour to be successful.

To perform the next step of the ritual of the Hammer of the Gods, the Champion must lie down on the altar. Then, the Champion's sacrificer must say the words "In the name of mortalkind, I sacrifice thee for the sake of the world" and then sacrifice the Champion. The Champion will then be a Champion no more, but the power will be absorbed by the altar.

After revealing the details of the ritual, Tomas further mused on the nature of the Hammer. He informed those present that there are some indications that the vaunted Hammer of the Gods may actually be embodied in the form of a mortal Champion. While just the contemplations of an addled, stressed brain, the people of these dark times require hope. Perhaps one person can truly save them from all that threatens?
