Hello people with pointy fangs!

Abhorash has freed you. Vampires have been changed. If you want to know the reasoning and the argument, check out the forums or the event post that will follow soon. In this post, I'm going to explain the mechanics.

The Primus (which will eventually be a player that is leader of the Dominon. Similar to a guildmaster but with Vampire flavor) can have 5 childer. Those childer will be the heads of Houses, and leaders of each Bloodline.

Each of those (Emperor/Empress) may have 2 childer. Princes and Princesses.

From there down, it is all the same of up to 3 Childer per person.

We will be releasing NPC Sires that will unify our Newbie experience so that not every little would-be-vamp depends on the system to be able to jump into the big bad Vampire pool! However, the NPC Sires will bring people in at generation 12.

The only generation below that is 13. That is the "Bad News Bears" generation. Don't be generation 13!

Sires, you will find that your powers are basically the same, at least for now. Sires of generation 1-5 will find the breadth of their Sire powers have increased. You may use Sire commands further down your bloodline more than ever before! The Primus and the Emperors/Empresses may use Sire commands on their entire bloodline. How terrifying!

Every person who is embraced by a player rather than an NPC will have a permanent value applied to them titled "Embracer." Everyone recently stripped by our changes already has been given this value! It does not show yet, but I promise it's there.

So far, the only perk is thus:

RECONNECTBLOOD <person>
-----------------------
Reconnects you to one of your previously embraced childer. This does not take a full ritual, or any blood spilt. It is (nearly) immediate.

Next! All Sires have access to a new command!

REJECT CHILDER <name>
---------------------
Strip a childer from your bloodline, leaving them without a sire, and you with a free childer slot. This will encourage deeper bonds between Sires and their Childer.

Now then. The consequences!

If you have no sire, the Gaes is no longer an issue. Abhorash has freed you from that weakness. However, if your are not connected to a Source (the bloodlines tracing back to the Primus), your generation will grow weaker EVERY season. The direct repercussion of this is that the childer below you will also weaken and so the chain goes. Upon reaching Generation 13, childer will be seperated
from a Sire completely until everyone falls to 13. In short; GET A SIRE.

Houses are broken. Because you are now connected together without the need for a central Being controlling you, the Dominion is now in charge. Houses still maintain a few commands like news,
bankaccounts, etc, but they are essentially below even a clan. Estates remain, libraries remain. We did this because they should no longer be the main focus of the Consanguine race. They are no longer pseudo-guilds. House credits have gone to the House Leader and the Dominion. In the near future, the leader of each bloodline will automatically be the House Leader, and we will institute a system for usurping them.

Please note, we are not done! This was just the beginning. Vampires will have a few more things coming. But I must admit that this was a task outside my ability. If not for our amazing staff, vampires would be broken now and Aetolia may have crashed. The rest will be introduced a little more slowly. Consider this a small lull in the development cycle as I catch up on things I avoided, and fix the inevitable errors that are soon to start. Also, there are orgreqs... so many orgreqs...

PS

Soon I'll post about how this event was handeled, and where things could have changed! Keep your eyes on the forums.

Penned by my hand on Tisday, the 23rd of Khepary, in the year 466 MA.
