Even Stagehands Need Applause!

Hey folks.

I've been a little delayed in announcing them to you, but I'm very
excited to talk about a couple of behind-the-scenes changes we've made
to enhance your experience and immersion while you're playing Aetolia.

First and most significant is our complete revamp of the Atmosphere
system, which is the mechanism that pops up those occasional messages
about scampering bunnies or howling prisoners. You may have noticed that
the world around you has been especially quiet the last week or two as
we went through the process of refining and converting all those old
messages. Now that they're a part of the shinier, unbelievably flexible
new system, you'll find the world coming alive once more. Special credit
goes to Haern for suggesting and pursuing this idea and doing such a
huge chunk of legwork in the conversion process. He and the mortal
builders are working hard to add a bunch of new messages, too, so be on
the lookout! It'll blow your mind how alive the world will be with this
new tool, and you won't know what hit you as you see how much Albedos
thrives.

One completely invisible new feature (and another god-player suggestion)
is a tool for tracking player developments and interactions with Gods.
We've always had a little system to make notes on mobiles for future
reference after good possession and roleplay, but never an official way
to do the same for players. Now we have an enormous wealth of trackable,
trending data about your big life changes and the opportunity to add
information of our own about who your character is, how he or she acts,
and the best, most immersive way for us to interact with you.

I know these systems aren't flashy and exciting on the surface, but I
can't wait to see how much they enrich Aetolia. We'll just save the
flashy stuff for this weekend...
