Public News Post #20201

The Curiosity of a Bystander

Dear Speaker,

Before the inevitable thoughts of "Who are you, even?" enters your head, let me preface this message simply by saying I'm someone who's bored; a feeling only worsened by responses such as these in regard to Herald Dunn's previous post. Surely if you're not spending virtually any time fighting, you'd at least be able to come up with a more thought-out rebuttal, no?

Since the Public boards require a large donation before being allowed to post on them, I'd like to spend a few minutes dispelling a few... Falsities, or misconceptions, that seemed rather apparent to me in your post.

Firstly, there's no such thing as an "illegal" shrine. Shrines can be placed anywhere an Order wishes to place them, if they have the required things needed to raise and strengthen them... Whether or not a shrine is wanted there, is perhaps another story. But that's still not what illegal means. Illegal means it's criminally not allowed.

Secondly, the shrines seem quite intact from my observations whilst roaming around. So it does not seem like Eleusis' efforts have paid off particularly well in that regard. Admittedly I didn't check Rheodad because who really cares about a forest that's way off in la-la land anyway?

On top of the above, your point about the totems is kinda... Irrelevant. Those totems, unlike the shrines, are illegal. Totems aren't to be implanted outside of cities, unless they're in an out-of-subdivision home, or inside an Order temple itself. If you're feeling especially petty, you can freely hire on people who own those totems! See, that's why it's illegal! Can't hire on someone who decides to raise a shrine. Silly.

Thirdly, Ashtan has defended against just as many- oftentimes with lesser odds of success- of Eleusis' attacks, whilst simultaneously cutting down the majority on our own. We like to give our guards time off. Also it's not really infiltration if you know they're there. That's like... The other party not knowing is kinda the key aspect of infiltration. You seem littered with a vocabulary of words that you do not know the definition of. It's like a pattern! Who doesn't love patterns?

To finish up, since I can't address -every- point of your post, by virtue of not being in Lord Babel's order, thus not knowing their reasons for doing things... Saying that constant slaying does not further war is... Asinine, at best. Attrition- that is, wearing people down- is very much a valid, and quite often, a very successful tactic often employed in extended wars. Making people no longer wish to partake is like... The epitome of a successful war strategy. Considering a number of your combatants have withdrawn since the war began, kind of proves the effectiveness of that whenever His servants come knocking.

Enlightening one post at a time,
Pyori!
