Reflections

Eleusians-

After a year of war it is time to reflect back. Hundreds of your citizens have been slaughtered at the hand of the Cult of Babel, a group of merely six or so individuals. I have personally slaughtered nearing three hundred of you. We have held sovereignty of the Rheodad forest for longer than we have not for the year and our shrine network and essence are very much intact.

What have you done? You lurk in the shadows with your hands covering your faces as you await the absence of enemies. Then, when there is no hope of reprisal, you strike. You may view this as a definitive victory amongst your peers, but I assure you it only serves to define your cowardice. Like it or not, you have learned fear.

Even now as I pen this post, you await a Divine crusade. This crusade has been initiated such that it will minimize the chance of reprisal, once again. I cannot even feign surprise after the "martial" practices me and mine have witnessed of your soldiers, though. Your champion, Rangor, refuses solo combat while soldiers desert and leave the realms to avoid the Spear of Babel.

In spite of all this I believe you have learned, perhaps in the back of your shallow minds, the superiority of Oblivion over Nature. Despite the best, and not so brave, efforts of your leaders, you have fallen time and again to an enemy unafraid to face you head on despite a large discrepancy in the size of our forces. Your own Speaker, who initiated these hostilities, flees from most fighting, as if she cannot be held accountable.

I hope you do not forget this of your Speaker.

Oblivion does not.

Penned by my hand on the 22nd of Sarapin, in the year 767 AF.
