Bigger, Longer, and Uncut Festival CONCLUSION!

Wealthy Greetings, Ladies and Gentlemen of Sapience!

As the Bigger, Longer, and Uncut Festival comes to a close, I've found myself reflecting on what very easily has become the biggest event of the decade. And what I've found has brought me no small amount of pleasure: whether it was watching seasoned warriors fight for a grand prize, the flurry of masks amidst battle figurine dueling, or designers putting their pride into the opportunity to win a million golden sovereigns. I can't say that I or the rest of our Order made everyone happy with our shouting and ADs, but I'd like to think that the Festival was a success - one worthy of improving upon for the future.

There were two design contests that became the highlight of this contest: the individual contest (19 entries) and the bundled contest (10 entries). All of the submissions were sent to me (and I abstained from all voting), where all identifying marks and names were removed for the purposes of judging. The vitrified sorting jar was used to randomize the order of submissions before they were presented to the judges, who voted on their first, second, third, and Honourable Mention choices. Points were ascribed to each tier, and placement was based upon those who had the most points. The judges, six in all, were left blissfully ignorant of the winners' true identities until the moment they were revealed.

And here they are!

Bundled:
1st: Ayu
2nd: Riylan
3rd: Navarr
H.M.: Skye
H.M.: Madelyne
H.M.: Elstan

Individual:
1st: Laedha
2nd: Perl
3rd: Samizsea
H.M.: Aelyn
H.M.: Madelyne

Those who have been chosen have received their prizes, and have two options before them: they may submit their designs and transfer ownership to myself (the end result is to eventually transfer them to the Order of Lord Prospero, but apparently, just transfering them to 'Prospero' doesn't work) - in this scenario, your name will be on the design for posterity, and we will be paying in full any fees attached to the creation process (seriously, it wouldn't make sense to give prize money that has to be spent!). The second option is a little more comfortable for those who have submitted designs but are not themselves designers: that our Order designers submit and arrange for the designs themselves. This means that you won't be listed as the creator, but that's part of the reason why we dropped gold into your lap, right?

Regardless of the route taken, all of the winning participants will have credit given in a book that will be kept in the temple - so all will know who has added to His realm through His Festival. The Order thanks those who have participated beyond measure, and hope that the next event will be even bigger (and longer, and even more uncut!). Beyond the transfer of designs and a few Auction pieces, the event has concluded - I look forwards to the next.

I would like to extend a special thanks to both the Virtuosi and the Carnivalis Institute of Jestering for making what would otherwise be a bland and simple event into something truly memorable.

Thanks again!

Penned by my hand on the 16th of Chronos, in the year 746 AF.
