You claim to be independent from and free-thinking of the influences of the East but as the Overseer wisely said, actions speak louder than words. I am reminded of Rinzai and Bronislav, who loaded up on ships with other Cyrene citizens and attempted to aid the Navy of Targossas at sea only a few years back. I am reminded of Ruca, a Targossian priestess no less, who came to aid you and what you humorsly call a military just months ago before your gates were reduced to rubble. I am reminded again of Bronislav as he failed (despite trying) to stop the destruction of Targossas' gates this past month.

Actions speak louder than words and blood cries louder still. Nobody is fooled or moved by your long-winded attempts to claim Cyrene stands on her own. Until you can prove it through deed, Cyrene will remain what it always has been: the serving-wench of the East and the pincushion of Sapience.
