Targossian Policy re: Excommunication

Greetings, Sapience,

In light of recent events, Targossian city policy regarding the handling of those who face excommunication has been reviewed and updated.

Effective immediately, severance from the blessings of Devotion will lead to you being declared an enemy of the Dawnspear.

This should not be viewed as further punishment of those who find themselves excommunicated; it is merely a matter of bringing the city's policies in line with her ideals.

To be excommunicated is to prove to the Deacon of Celestia, and to the Bloodsworn, your inability to live a life devoted to Good, and to be seen working against the cause of Good. To walk the blessed streets of Their city, under the protection of her walls and her policies, is a privilege, and not one afforded to those who cannot demonstrate the capacity to return to a life lived in service to Light and Fire.

As I have said before, we all have our choices to make. We must all choose whether we will devote ourselves in service to a cause greater than we could ever hope to be, or we can choose to live selfishly, doing what we please and associating with who we will.

These choices have consequences. May you all learn from the unfortunate examples of the fallen priestess, Melodie Le'Murzen, and from the traitor Atalkez Al'Jafri.

There is a home for you all in Targossas, should you but seek it. For those who turn their backs on this opportunity, though, there shall be no mercy.

In Their eternal service,

Silas Maynard de l'Evanoir
Dawnlord of Targossas

Penned by my hand on the 19th of Glacian, in the year 642 AF.
