The Light Restored

Written by: Silas Maynard
Date: Sunday, December 16th, 2012
Addressed to: Everyone

Greetings, Sapience,

I write to you all today a new man. The burden of grief and loss and
uncertainty, once so heavy around my shoulders, is lifted. I am shriven,
unfettered, free.

You see, Sapience, Bal'met the Destroyer is dead. Aurora, Goddess of
Light, is restored to us. With Lord Deucalion at Her side, and the
Pantheon at Her back, it was She that struck the fatal blow, as foretold
by the Lord of Time, to bring the beast god to an end.

We have all lost much to his machinations, aided as he was by those
fools in the west, but the new dawn is come and we are set free.

It will take time to rebuild, undoubtedly, but there is hope now where
before there was none. The future is open to us again, Sapience. Let us
all be bold enough and strong enough to rise, under the banner of Good,
to meet it.

To the Lightbringer, vanquisher of Bal'met, and the Righteous Fire, Her
shield: I am Yours. I cast off the shackles of the past, and I look to
the glorious future that You will build for all of us.

With the fall of Shallam, I once thought myself homeless. With the
return of the purifying fire and the sacred light, I am reminded that my
home is where it always was: in the Light.

Let none of us ever forget this again.

Theirs, eternally,

Silas Maynard

Penned by my hand on the 2nd of Phaestian, in the year 613 AF.
