The Dive

Dive in head first
Terrifying,
Satisfying,
Fleeting.

You hit the water,
Hard.
Warm and clear
Dark but familiar

You descend,
Immersed below,
Deeper,
Into the nothingness.

Sand,
Delicate,
Like a cloud.

Opening your eyes,
You reach out.

Sharp,
Barbed,
Unforgiving,
Rocks.

?Close,? you think, ?The risk was worth it.?
