Deadly Observation

At the city centre
A small gathering
A noble man in the midst
of the social smattering

He wears his blade
open and brazenly
the glint of steel
shines haphazardly

Conversing and laughing
he catches me spying
upon his weapon
is that him smiling?

This time different
a sinister grin
like a challenge issued
do you think you can win?

He continues his gaze
stripping all but silence
hand on his hilt
the promise of violence

The moment passes
as he turns to his friends
a sigh of relief
or is it not the end?

Penned by my hand on the 13th of Chronos, in the year 756 AF.
