A lesson in Mindlessness

Doth, do tell, a story, a lesson, if you will
on the weakness involved in being still;
many will tell you the danger involved
with wandering, mentally disolved.
For clarity seek, acuity should instill.

The danger involved, in letting the mind wander
is the patter of thieves and traitors
Hard work, earnings, disappear slowly
but feel nothing, emotionally lonely
of the mindless dawdler.

I am poorer, of wealth and mind
but with this, I find
A lesson for all is here
make no mistake, I fear
brush this off, in time.

A thief, nimble fingers did seek
My mindless pockets, a peek
Gold, so much to steal
a million strong, unreal
Still, I was, I did not speak.

so throw down, I do, serpent Karren
A challenge unique, not sparin'
for a poem you bequeathed,
with my swords sheathed
now yours, if you're darin'

Penned by my hand on the 20th of Glacian, in the year 755 AF.
