Poetry News Post #5219

Emptiness

Written by: Rekken Quickquill, the Rhymer

Addressed to: Everyone

When one is lost
Asleep, never to wake
You remember what was
Celebrate a life lived
And mourn the loss of further joy

But how can you celebrate
A soul who never got to breathe
A life left unlived
Someone who never had a chance?

It is an empty hole indeed
Parents left begrieved
The fault of no one, and yet
We are all still left bereft
And I know not what to say

Penned by my hand on the 7th of Daedalan, in the year 747 AF.
