Wisdom

I am the dog at the door
Intruders can ignore me
I can sit and wait quielty as they enter
I can be calm, submissive even

Just before my teeth find flesh

I am the dog at the door
The one they hear first before you answer
The one they consider carefully by my bark
Only to find me smaller and inconsequential

Before I chase evil doers from my dwelling

I am the dog at the door
Alerting you to things you cannot see
Guarding what you do not know to keep safe

I have eyes beyond the darkness
I have ears that hear what may come
I have scent that gives me a second vision
I have senses that can discern the intent of a person

I am wisdom

Penned by my hand on the 11th of Phaestian, in the year 739 AF.
