It's good to see some works appear;
I'm glad to see what's written here.
I notice that there's more than one
About some army being done.

There are a few that you could mean,
And reasons you may not be keen
To specify the rank and file
You seem to think will sleep a while.

This makes sense if they're a tale;
A fiction, meant to make a sale.
But if this isn't quite the case,
By all means, make use of this space!

Where is this army that would sleep,
Because of fear the ranks won't keep?
Where are these folks who love to fight
Who would let fear grip them so tight?

Is this just one more woven yarn,
To soothe the critters in the barn?
If so or not, you've told it well.
Odd story that you chose to tell.

Do answer, if you're so inclined;
I'm sure this board's readers won't mind.
And if you think my poem's worse -
At least I didn't write 'free verse!'
