The cost...

My heart full of smoldering embers... the smoke billowing high
Drifting under a clear moon, as I stand all alone and cry
I must be true to my heart, and I'll happily pay the cost
Until I followed the path it led, and saw what I had lost

Now I stand all alone indeed. No city to call my own
My love has stood beside me, though he has found himself a home
No one really wants the forestals, it had been said to me
Even the city made up of them... they too rejected me

I picked out a grove as close as I could, to my former town
So just in case they needed me, I would never let them down
I make lots of money from herbs, I harvest and sell the rest
I'm good for money and helping, though I always tried my best

But money can't buy my dreams, now that my spirit is broken
All I've left are memories, those are in fact, a mere token
Never again will I ever have, those little things I've lost
Be wary when following your heart, always think of the cost

Penned by my hand on the 24th of Sarapin, in the year 659 AF.
