"But the Truth Remains"

Silence echoes in the space where you once spoke.
Coldness spreads in the space where you once slept.
The icy fear that gripped my mind when they said those words...
My heart rejects the pain, but the truth remains:
You are gone, and I am here, and it -hurts-

Darkness lingers in the space that you once lit up.
Wounds reopen in the spaces that you once healed.
The numbness that seeped into my heart when I saw you...
My Soul rejects the change, but the truth remains:
You are there, and I have stayed, and it -aches-

The places that once brought us joy now bring me pain - You aren't here.
The songs that once made us laugh now make me cry - I miss your voice.
The stories that once made us sigh now make me scream - It hurts to hear of happy endings and forever afters.
I want to see you, but I can't, and it -burns-

Penned by my hand on the 15th of Aeguary, in the year 658 AF.
