Orchids bloom from the page
Alp's cruel song, no hopes assuage
The scream ripped from the dreamer's throat -
A lullaby nightmares rewrote -
She tells a tale of rage.

Sing a song of the modern age:
Our hubris enters left onto the stage,
Our sovereigns build a gilded garrote
While from our fear, orchids bloom.

Look inward! The heart's the gauge,
Your foolish desires, a slaver's wage -
Unselfish love is a better banknote,
Though history's annals ne'er shall quote.
Burn your idols with lavender and sage
And from the ashes, orchids bloom.

Penned by my hand on the 7th of Aeguary, in the year 645 AF.
