I did my best,
I paid them well,
And still, they sent me
Straight to hell.

To lie beneath
The briny deep,
The ocean realm,
The coral keep.

My crew they did,
What they thought best,
Though truthfully,
It came through jest.

Twas late one night,
Below the deck,
Where sailors drank,
While seas we trekked.

They knew me well,
While I was hard,
I was quite fair,
And left none marred.

But my crew, they joked,
And jest of me,
Of hate, and vengeance,
And of mutiny.

And as they spake,
The treason bred,
And over time,
Came to a head.

The one who led them,
His name Will,
Took advantage,
Of his skill.

A silver tongue,
He did possess,
And to each man,
He did confess.

A plot, a plan,
A dire thing,
To send a captain
Down the drain.

So come the morn,
I woke in chains,
And as I woke,
The traitors came.

They tied me up,
And took me out,
And as I looked
All about.

I saw their faces,
Filled with shame,
After the men,
To the railing I came.

I saw the shame,
I saw the fear,
I knew for me,
The end was near.

And as I fell,
Into the sea,
I felt the ocean,
Surrounding me.

It grew quite dark,
And hard to breathe,
I couldn't think.
I couldn't see.

My world, my life,
Began to fade
And to all hope,
Farewell, I bade.

For deep beneath,
That wooden trap,
I felt something
In me snap.

I felt the panic,
I felt the fear,
I knew for me,
The end was near.

And as my vision
Turned to black,
I breathed it in,
And my grip went slack.

I noticed this,
My final thought,
I knew the pain,
That I had wrought.

I knew the truth,
I knew the fear,
I knew for me,
The end was here.
