Poetry News Post #4434

Emptiness in me

Written by: Shaya

There is,
an emptyness,
a gaping hole,
a silence that I can not overcome alone.

I remember,
when we were home,
always a comforting quiet,
while we studied, and read, and defended.

I miss,
everything about you,
the warmpth and comfort,
the warm smile you cast upon me.

There are,
echoes in my mind,
a silence that burns,
a love that yearns to hold your hand.

There is,
no homestead to return to,
no House to rely on,
no parents to call to my side.

I gave,
the children to the flame,
and still hold on,
to the hope they too may return.

There is,
an empty silence,
my mind eerily quiet,
where there was once wampth.

Penned by my hand on the 6th of Ero, in the year 637 AF.
