Requiem

The sky was dark and bleak that day.
The sun was hot and read.
It slowly sank beneath the sea,
And filled my heart with dread.

It's light had once been warm with love.
It's glow once lit the way.
But now it sank beneath the blue,
Left naught but hell to pay.

The children shook and trembled there,
Their innocence now flead.
Without the sun to guard their lives,
Their hearts to reapers wed.

From out the sea a brighter orb.
It scorches all in sight.
It's flames with zeal condemning all
Who did not join it's light.

And now the children wandering
Have found instead of love
An overwhelming vengance lust.
Just wrath, not mercy's dove.

What have they done to hurt the world?
What crime did they enact?
Some even spread the light about,
Without the binding pact.

But still the orb forsakes them all.
Why, I can't comprehend.
Without a light to guard them fast,
They surely are condemned.

Penned by my hand on the 2nd of Glacian, in the year 631 AF.
