Scarlatti's Beat

Thump... thump thump...
The rhythm beats along.
Heavy bass goes bump-bump,
When I hear that song.

Thump... thump thump...
Flooding all my senses,
As I turn to jump,
Letting go pretenses.

Thump... thump thump...
It makes me move my feet.
Not a time to slump,
When you feel that beat.

Thump... thump thump...
It echoes in my ears.
From the lowest frump,
That pulse purges fears.

Thump... thump thump...
Life blood at the source,
From your heart will pump,
My Lord's drumbeats course.

Penned by my hand on the 13th of Sarapin, in the year 625 AF.
