The Writer

The pen draws the ink,
Pushing thoughts as he fights,
The sword yields the legend,
Drawing life as he writes,

The armies crumble kingdoms,
As leaders rise and fall,
The writer captures the moment,
The essence and glory of it all,

A reign has been toppled,
And the people are now free,
While the writer works through nights,
Lest he let history repeat,

From within these tales,
The warriors receive their praise,
As the generations teach the stories,
Written from these ancient days,

As a statue carved from stone,
The words will stand strong,
Long after the muse has passed,
And his legacy is gone,

The name of the general,
Who lead the battle of this fame,
The writer made most certain,
The future wouldn't forget the name,

For it is through these words,
From which we remember so clear,
It is the voice of the ink,
That our mind will always hear,

And this message is not for glory,
Nor to forget our valiant fighter,
It is but a simple reminder,
That history is kept by the writer.

Penned by my hand on the 7th of Miraman, in the year 608 AF.
