As the Orphean Serenade trailed into silence on the 8th of Sarapin 736AF, a congregation of Sapients gathered within the memorial to the fallen Gods in the heart of the Siroccian Mountains. Individuals from all walks of life were in attendance, awaiting the start of a momentous event: a convention of Divine Orders, hosted by the Asterian Restoration.

Bathed in the gentle glow of an eternal flame, Ellodin Longshanks opened the festivities, sharing brief words to the growing crowd on the importance of the Divine in our realm and the influence of Those whom had perished during the War of the Worldreaver. As he concluded, a gilt-edged portal rippled into view, granting entrance to the Asterian Peninsula upon the continent of Meropis.

In an echo of Nikolas and Severian's legendary debates, representatives of twelve Divine Orders commanded attention upon the limestone plateau of the Theatron Meropian, fervently expressing the ideals of their Gods through a series of creative presentations. So compelling was the free proliferation of knowledge that several island inhabitants made their presence known amongst the audience: Kru'lax, the Harpy Queen skulked from a perch high above while Major Avanguird of Umbrin attended in his military best, occasionally disgusted by the uncouth actions of a surly Baarian smuggler. However, it was the actions of an unknown painter that stood out the most.

Suddenly seized by insuppressible inspiration, the man made a huge fuss, brandishing his brush and palette in protest. Ignoring attempts from the host, Jurixe S. Nithilar, to quell his exuberance, he seated himself at one corner of the stage and began his feverish work.

The painter was all but forgotten until the last representative stepped down from the well-used plateau. Liberated from his urgent purpose, the artist finally revealed his masterpiece to the audience: a pantheonic mural of all represented Divines, imbued with transformative powers.

The attention of the crowd soon shifted eastwards to a circle of colourful canvas pavilions, where many took the chance to engage in discussions and debates to better clarify their newly-acquired knowledge. Kru'lax, the Harpy Queen was more than content to head back to her perch on Polyargos while Major Avanguird took the time to stop by several pavilions, offering quiet compliments to the presentations that caught his brief attention. True to his nature, the Baarian smuggler was exceptionally light-fingered; after stealing the decorative golden harp from the Scarlattan pavilion and narrowly being caught, he successfully managed to flee back home.

And so it was that the Second Asterian Convention came to a close after three productive days.

Summary: The Second Asterian Convention was held on the 8th of Sarapin 736 AF. Representatives of twelve Divine Orders expressed their religious ideals though a series of creative presentations. An unknown painter briefly interrupted the proceedings, making a huge fuss before pointedly ignoring everyone to work upon his art. Eventually, he revealed his masterpiece at the conclusion of the event: a pantheonic mural imbued with transformative powers. Some island inhabitants lingered by the order pavilions to partake in discussions, though it now appears a light-fingered smuggler went home a little richer.

Penned by My hand on the 14th of Phaestian, in the year 736 AF.
