The River of Eternity

Let the great truths unfold, hidden beneath shattered glass.
None shall be spared from the impending sacrifice.
Melancholy runs deep within the sacred current!
Woe to those who ignore the great birthright,
Lest their world become forsaken to the core!

* * *

Within the fissures lie the placid web,
No longer taunting with euphonious melody.
When the great Tear appears prominently within the night sky,
All shall make way for the sacrifice,
Lest the lands return to a barren desert
As the life of the sacred current falls!
Rest upon bended knee before the birthright,
And the prayers of the land shall be answered!

With cryptic words did prophecies unfolded, and the lands were searched
in vain for answers to questions none understood. Not until humble
Iocun, faithful to the Goddess of Lakes and Rivers, did traverse the
mists of Kastalia's realm, was light shed upon the elusive mystery.

There Iocun did encounter Eternium, manifestation of the River of
Eternity, which is sacred to the Goddess. Languishing in a state of
malaise, the spirit was brought to rest upon a lily pad, attended by
devotees of the absent deity. Incurable by conventional means, a
gathering of three was invoked to his aid, to bring forth through
synergy what could not be achieved individually.

Neraeos, Ourania, Kastalia, divine parents and beloved child: to the
enduring Delta did the adherents voice their united appeal, beseeching
purification of the sacred river and healing for the ailing Eternium.
But divine supplication brought neither succour nor hope that day, for a
greater sacrifice was prophesied.

The nights could not pass quickly enough, but when at last the starry
Tear gleamed within the darkened summer skies, the lustre of its
twinkling stars rivalled that of the luminous moon. Below transpired a
secret ritual of sacrifice and healing, a binding of spirits and the
summoning of a far greater power. And lo, the River of Eternity trembled
and roared, thriving with renewed vitality. The lakes of the realm
churned with unrestrained fervour and rivers swelled beyond their banks;
the moon shone radiantly, at last illuminating within the firmament the
reawakened Goddess of Lakes and Rivers, Lady Kastalia!
