19.20 Relics

Relics are special items that imbue minor effects or abilities to their owners, and are assembled from rare pieces into their final form. Relics are highly similar to Heirlooms, in terms of how they work and can be interacted with. The primary differences are that multiple Relics can be assembled from the same general pool of components, rather than each relic requiring its own pool, and that relics tend to have practical effects on the character, instead of the cosmetic effects of Heirlooms.

A Troubador's Notes -- Those who bear -Active- Troubador's notes are able to color their emotes, to give them extra emphasis and attention. To color an emote, simply EMOTE <color> <emote>. Color options are Black, White, Green, Yellow, Red, Blue, Magenta, Cyan, Boldblack, Boldwhite, BoldGreen, Boldyellow, Boldred,Boldblue, Boldmagenta and Boldcyan. This special emote is not currently compatible with targeted emotes. It requires a shard of spiritstone, a twisted spring, a greasy spindle, and an unsnapped fold of paper.

A Brooch of Lifesense -- A similar ability to its far more common sibling, Deathsense, Lifesense has frequently been overlooked as being less utilitarian in nature. A few spirits, though, understand the tactical importance of knowing when one's enemies are being revived. This brooch, when activated, will grant the owner knowledge of when others are returned to life. It requires a shard of spiritstone, a clunky calibrator, a glass lensicle, and a twinkling twirlent.

A Watchful Idol -- This idol, when activated, will glow any time someone on your enemy list enters or leaves the same area as yourself. It requires a shard of spiritstone, a glass lensicle, a twinkling twirlent, and a glowing gyrator.

A Forged Set of Identification Papers -- These papers, when activated, allow you to HONORS SET <Custom honors line>. This will prevent others from being able to see your honors, while allowing you to spread information as you please. One can deactivate the papers in order to allow their normal honors to be seen again. It requires a shard of spiritstone, a glass lensicle, a clunky calibrator, and an unsnapped fold of paper.

A Set of Shark's Teeth -- One of the more ancient predators that still survive in the world of Midkemia, sharks posses voracious appetites and have a matching ability to ingest just about anything. One enterprising young Magician in the past managed to create numerous relics that imbue these aspects of the shark into the user. To use the teeth, simply assemble and activate the teeth, then EAT the item you'd like to eat. You cannot eat things that reset, are loyal to something, or are still alive. It requires a sparking synapse, a flexing muscular fiber, a twinkling twirlent, and a glowing gyrator.

A Chameleon's Skin -- Chameleons are lizards from the warmer climes of Midkemia that are capable of reproducing the colors of their environment in order to have a shifting camouflage to protect against predators. Over the years, many Magicians have attempted to reproduce this effect. One was particular successful, creating a wearable skin that, enhanced with magic, is capable of allowing the wearer to blend in with their surroundings after a brief delay. To use the skin, assemble and activate it. After you move and a 10 second cooldown, you will automatically become hidden in the room. This effect is similar to a rogue's ability to shroud, but doesn't have any of the benefits aside from not being immediately visible. Your actions are still visible, you can still be targetted, and movement will destroy the effect. It's also worth noting that others will see you blend into your surroundings. It requires a sparking synapse, a glass lensicle, a flexing muscular fiber, and a clunky calibrator.

A Kraken's Tentacle -- The bane of fishermen, Krakens are beasts of the deep that occasionally make their way to the surface to defend fishing grounds. They've been known to swallow fishermen whole, or wreck unsuspecting ships. One particularly disturbing aspect of Krakens is their tentacles. Instead of sporting the usual appendages, Krakens have chosen instead a myriad of of muscular, prehensile protrusions that have a habit of wrapping up unsuspecting fish, boats or people! Unsurprisingly, several Magicians in the past have wanted to emulate these appendages and have made magical versions of them for they non-tentacular folk of the world. To use a tentacle, assemble and activate it. This will allow you to TENTACLEGET items, offering a special message over the usual GET command. One can also exclusively TENTACLEPAT things, giving others a hint of that tentacular creepiness! It requires sparking synapse, a glowing gyrator, a clunky calibrator, and a twinkling twirlent.

A Cat's Eye -- Many an adventurer in the mountains has decided to camp at night, built a comforting fire, only to be far less comforted when they noticed pairs of glowing orbs just in the darkness, watching them. Intrepid Magicians have carefully studied this effect that many animals have and came to two conclusions: that the glowing effect animals sometimes have is related to their ability to see at night, and that felines have the most interesting glow, by far. Unsurprisingly, this effect was quickly replicated by an unknown Lesser Path magician and made available for others! To use the Cat's Eye, one needs to assemble and activate the relic. Afterwards, the owner can use the ability NIGHTVISION, regardless of whether they possess the ability in Vigilance, and can use the unique EYEGLOW emote! It requires a sparking synapse, a glass lensicle, a glowing gyrator, and a twinkling twirlent.

-- Ruthia's veil will show you as, Light and shadow swirl in a chaotic fit of colors, dancing wildly one moment and then in an almost seductive swirl the next, all the while hiding the figure beneath." and is assembled from a shard of Spiritstone, a pulsing carbuncle, a greasy spindle, and a clunky calibrator.

-- Tith-Onanka's veil will show you as, "A suit of ethereal platemail stands stoically here, obscuring the form of the person within." and is assembled from a shard of Spiritstone, a flexing muscular fiber, a glowing gyrator, and a glass lensicle.
