LANGUAGE RULES - Lusternia Online Help

(See also HELP LANGUAGE for the various languages of Lusternia.)

The rules for using language in Lusternia are simple. Do not inflict overly
obscene language on people who you do not _know_ are willing to hear it, and do
not use discriminatory language (racist, homophobic, sexist, etc) AT ALL.

We don't care what you talk about in tells with friends (not just anyone:
friends only), or says (if with only friends present), but we do not want to
see awful or offensive language on any public channels (market, shout, yell,
newbie), any city channels, or any guild or order channels. The head of a clan
may dictate what sort of language he or she wishes to allow in his or her clan,
subject to the other absolute restrictions on discriminatory language and

Our language rules fit within the general context of HELP OOC (or

In short: LANGUAGE RULES apply everywhere except tells to friends, says in the
presence of friends only, and in clans (where the clan guidelines rule).

Also, spell out words: do not use sounds-like abbreviations such as
how r u? b4 I c u, I 1der, k? SPELL THEM OUT!

Furthermore, the justifiably-despised hacker-speak (l33t h8x0r type of
nonsense) is completely banned from Lusternia. If we see you doing it, you will
get one warning, and then be banned. Go play Everquest if you want to hang out
with that sort of person.

Emoting on Channels:

While we do not monitor Private Clans for such things, this is completely up
to the discretion of the Clan owner on whether it is allowed or not.

Public channels, including: GT, GTS, GNT, CT, Clans owned by
city/commune/guild, Order channels are highly encouraged to not emote on.
This breaks immersion for many players and it is encouraged that you find
another means to express yourself. If you feel you need to *laugh* on a
channel, you can simply use sounds, Hah!, Hahaha!, Heh!, Hehehehe!.
